One of the best parts of going to national parks are all of the incredible sites that you see all along the way (see what I did there). This shot was taken just outside of everyone’s favorite little Colorado town, Crested Butte. I had never been before, and it did not disappoint.
But on the way, I love getting shots like this one. The feeling of both desolation and civilization at the same time has always been something I love to photograph.
To get there, my partner and I drove in our friends Paige and Ted’s camper van, the one and only Vanwylder. If you are in need of a camper van, and you’re in Denver, truly this is the only place you need to look. We showered out of the back of this sucker, cooked all of our meals, charged devices, stayed cool when we needed to, and warmed up when we got cold. This beauty even took us all the way down to the bottom of the canyon…
